Riding with the Community: The Clay Road Classic
There’s nothing quite like the crunch of gravel under your tires, the camaraderie of fellow riders, and that feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line – covered in a fine layer of Georgia dust, of course. This year, The Rodd Firm was a proud sponsor of the Thomasville Clay Road Classic on February 8, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast!
If you’re not familiar with it, the Clay Road Classic is a ride (not a race – though I saw plenty of competitive spirits out there!) that takes cyclists through some of the most scenic backroads in Thomasville. Riders of all levels came out, from seasoned gravel pros to weekend warriors looking for a challenge.
Why We Get Involved
At The Rodd Firm, we believe that being part of this community means more than just practicing law – we want to actively support the people and events that make Thomasville such a great place to live.
Sponsoring the Clay Road Classic was an easy “yes” for us. It’s about promoting health, outdoor adventure, and, let’s be honest, an excuse to eat a big post-ride meal guilt-free.
Speaking of Safety…
While cycling is an amazing way to stay active and explore, safety should always come first. Whether you’re on the road, a trail, or cruising downtown. Here are a few quick reminders for our fellow riders:
- Be Visible – Bright colors and lights are important to remember. They help cars see you before it’s too late.
- Wear a Helmet – Seems obvious, right? But let’s be honest, we all know someone who “forgets.” (You know who you are.)
- Follow the Rules of the Road – Just because you’re on two wheels doesn’t mean traffic laws don’t apply. Stay predictable, signal your turns, and don’t weave through cars like you’re in a spy movie.
